Coolio ganhou inúmeros prêmios e teve suas músicas no topo das listas por muitos anos. Mas poucos sabem que o rapper também era um cozinheiro de mão cheia.
Em 2009, Coolio publicou o livro “Cookin' with Coolio: 5 Star Meals at a 1 Star Price” (Cozinhando com Coolio: refeições 5 estrelas com preço de 1 estrela), que inspirou uma websérie de mesmo nome alguns anos depois.
“Existe apenas uma coisa que Coolio faz há mais tempo que rap: cozinhar”, já informa a contracapa do livro em letras garrafais. Seu livro ensina receitas “Ghetto Gourmet”, como chama o autor, que vão de entradas, saladas e aves, até massas, carnes e doces lariquentos.
Seu gosto pela cozinha era grande. Em 2013, inclusive, Coolio vendeu o direito de algumas músicas para financiar sua carreira como chef. Para quem ficou curioso, o livro está disponível para venda em diversos sites como "americanas.com" e "mercado livre", por cerca de R$ 60,00.
